Convergence Magazine created a series of articles responding to Pro-Democracy Organizing Against Autocracy in the U.S., an article I promoted in this newsletter last week. The article and the responses remain relevant to us now and, thankfully in these busy times, the writing is accessible and the pieces are relatively short.

In response to the gathering threats to democracy—and a potential authoritarian consolidation in 2024, this series began with an examination of Erica Chenoweth and Zoe Marks’ report “Pro-democracy Organizing Against Autocracy in the United States”. The report draws on history, political science, and the expertise of movement leaders to help prepare for previously unthinkable but now possible outcome. Since then, many brilliant contributors have chimed in with takes on our next best steps.

Give it a read, and stay calm and carry on. Authoritarians like nothing better than panic, as a public in panic is more susceptible to disinformation and the appeal of strongman politicians.
